Celebrating English & Welsh Wines

With more than 400 vineyards, wines from England and Wales and currently, more than a million bottles are produced each year you really have no excuse as to why you haven't tried any.

Waitrose believe in the principle of supporting local producers in an industry that's going from strength to strength. So much so they have even planted their own vineyard at the Waitrose farm in Leckford and have successfully launched their first, award-winning sparkling wine.

The majority of vineyards in the UK are focussed in the south-east corner, where the warmer climates and chalky soil make it a particularly good region for sparkling wine production.

Here are just a few of the British and Welsh wines that Waitrose stock to give you an idea of what our beautiful country has to offer your wine rack.
