Cuban Holidays

Discover pristine coastlines and intriguing cities on this exotic Caribbean isle

Enthralling, atmospheric and complex are just a few words you could use to describe Cuba. As a former Spanish colony, a pre-revolutionary playground for the rich and famous, and the last bastion of world communism, the Caribbean’s largest island has a distinctive character – leave your regular Caribbean expectations at the airport, switch off from the Western world and take it as it comes and you won’t be disappointed. Add to this the famous white sand beach resorts of Varadero, Guardalavaca and the Cayos and you have the makings of a unique and unforgettable holiday.

IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel Trinidad with Kuoni (Check Availability)

A characterful hotel in the centre on the ‘open-air museum’ of Trinidad.
Faithfully restored to its former colonial splendour, this hotel is rich with tradition, history and culture and reflects the city in which it is located. In just a few minutes on foot, you’ll be at the centre of UNESCO-listed Trinidad with its attractive cobbled streets and vibrant and historic buildings. On your return you will be able to enjoy local dishes at the restaurant, a drink or two at the bar, and people watching in the lively Plaza Carillo, which comes alive in the evenings.
The on-site Restaurant Gourmet prides itself on offering both Cuban and international dishes and it has a charming position, just off the light-filled interior courtyard. Prior to, or after dinner you can relax in the romantic Lobby Bar, where there’s live music each night, or sample one of the island’s famous cigars in the traditional wood-panelled fumoir. Due to the hotel’s setting in the heart of the city, you’ll also not be too far from plenty of privately-run restaurants and bars if you wish to soak up an authentic atmosphere in the evenings. There are just 40 rooms here, each with a typically Cuban style which consists of dark wood furnishings and traditional linens. There are Standard Rooms, which have an interior view or, for a supplement, a view of the square. If having some outdoor space is important we recommend opting for a Standard Room with Terrace or, for more space one of the Junior Suites which feature a seating area.
